Exhibition - DICE Website is LIVE
dice.net.au
The site has been online and live for about a week now. It has had a few tweaks here and there, but it is there and showing off our work!

Screen Design - Afterista Exercise
I finally completed this exercise (which I wasn't aware was compulsory until a little while ago). I changed it to my own name, so that I could use it within my own work, and it still make sense.

Exhibition - DICE Website

The website is coming along nicely. I almost have all the required information from everyone, except a few people are lagging behind. Not making things easy I must admit, but that's a group project for ya!This shows the index page as well as the individual pages. Looking good, eh!

Industry Project - eventart Stationary
It seems that contact with my client for eventart has gone south. I haven't heard from him in almost 2 weeks. But I have been told to chug along and get this done for the Major Project side of my course. I will need to finalise these items of stationary and make a mock-up website with some form of animation. Then I will have completed the work to be competent :)

Exhibition - DICE Website
Been working on the website for our group exhibition/identity. Throughly enjoyed this, and it only took roughly a week after the concept was created in Illustrator to make it into a working website. It will be live and online during the first week of October, if everything goes to plan :)

Using after effects' tracking cabilities, I used some footage shot of my torso, and my hands "opening" up a photograph (my own) from nothing.

Southern Cross Package Design Awards 05

After a lot of BS, and about 4 hours of driving, I'm finished. I had to make a mock-up of my design, so I figured I would take some photos of it before I handed it off, to maybe never seeing it again. Its pretty cute, no?
Sorry about the poor quality.

Southern Cross Package Design Awards 04

I've finished the hard parts. I only have to do a bunch of printing, and I'm finished! I'll be driving my project in first thing in the morning, so I can get this done with. So happy!

Southern Cross Package Design Awards 03

Done more work on the Brief of the Southern Cross Package Design Awards. Still lots more work to do be done, but I'm certainly on me way to being finished. My design is at least finished, the Rationale is complete, I've identified the problem and written a solution, I've begun (at the hardest and longest part) analysing my design and I finished my product design audit.
I have had trouble with my 3D model of the container, but I'm going to continue to work on it later today and tomorrow whilst at TAFE.
Hopefully I can make it work!

This is an early version of my logo for the yoghurt. Oh, and I know you can spell it "Yogurt", but the added 'h' fits in with the target audience ;)I'm currently at work, so I can't post anything other than this - I don't have Illustrator here.

Rationale -
I haven't finished writing the important part, but this is the first 4 pages of my Rationale.
Small enough that people can't copy me ;)

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT MY ID NUMBER FOR THE COMPETITION!!!

Assessment - Folder Layout

Its a little rough, I know, but doing this on a PC is hard.
Plus, I'm not sure of what exactly I'm meant to show - the folders themselves, or whats inside. So I did a bit of both.

Assessment - Website Presentation
Well, the website is full :) That is a shot of each page that was created. I'm glad I decided to do this, rather than just present it in Preview. I've tested it, made sure that files are in the right directories and not corrupt, I tested it yesterday when I went into TAFE, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes to plan.I even made the site small to fit the computer we will be using - its resolution usually needs to be small.

Assessment - Presentation Order

So I've already sent it to David and Bret (as requested) but I figured if anything went wrong, this would prove that I had it done prior to Thursday.
Yes thats right - I'm almost finished and ready to present!!!

Screen Design - American Beauty Intonation
Well, I completed half of it. I got 31 seconds of it done. I know that it isn't all of what I wanted to have finished, but I really hated this brief, as it had been drawn out for so long. I struggled to keep my motivation high with it, so I did my best. What I completed is quite good imo, and I plan to pick this project back up and finishing the other 30-odd seconds another time.
But right now, I'm happy with it.

Assessment - Notes
I've been exporting a lot of my work today from Illustrator. I didn't get a whole lot done that I can show on here just yet, but I thought it would be best to keep this updated.
I plan on going into TAFE tomorrow and putting my large files on the server there, so that they're ready to go for Thursday. Plus, I've left one piece of work (which I've completed) at TAFE which I don't have the final copy for here at home, so I need to grab that to chuck into the presentation.
Wednesday I will be setting up the folder system to screenshot and email to David and Bret along with getting all of the exports into the web layout and making sure I have necessary .swf and .ppt files to present, along with ALL the working files to hand over "just in case".
I hate getting everything sorted... It can get very confusing.

I totally forgot about putting this exercise on here. Very simple, mask using write-on effect and a scribble effect.
Kind of cute I guess :)

Assessment - Web Layout Design
Okay, so since we got the email about how assessment day needs to go, I started to create a simple layout that will showcase still images and my two websites in it.I've come across a few bumps in my code, but I have finally gotten the layout sorted, and now I'm ready to sit down and create the imagery for this - which I assume will take awhile, as I will need to export everything... But! I would've had to have done that anyway, so its all good :)

Web Design - Personal Website update
So lately I've been working on filling out the portfolio section of the website, but also keeping it realistically simple and not put in too much content/pages/images/etc. I'm almost finished - I just need to fill out the photography part with some more things.
I also figured out a simple and easy way to incorporate the litebox javascript that bret showed us in class. I have used it before, so I understood the code a bit. I figured out a simple way to make litebox galleries just by using one image - works nicely, and saves using heaps of different pages!

Marketing Strategies - BP Essay
Okay - this has been a long time coming, but IT'S FINALLY FINISHED! I have finally put my butt into gear and gotten this blasted essay completed. I wrote it up in Word, spell-checked it and then put it into InDesign with pretty pictures.I just hope I haven't missed anything from the list of points to comment from. But its finished! Yay!

Screen Design - Kenetic Typography
This is still a work in progress, so bare with me. I just wanted to update this blog with what I am currently up to in this assignment.
This will be the last thing I finish before assessment week, as I have been putting it off due to a lack of enthusiasm about it. Oh, and don't mind the cut-off audio at the end of it, as I said; this is still a work in progress.

Just a screen shot of my Flash file for my interactive camera. This is slowly coming together, but I currently need more help with my Action Script. It looks ugly inside Flash, but it looks better when it is played.

I do have to simply create the prepress artwork for the business card and letter head pages, so this is almost complete. This is all of the designs that were required (plus a little extra).

Finally completed, this is my Flash animation of the practice that we were given for the Southern Cross Packaging Awards competition that is now underway (due late July sometime). This is not interactive, and simply plays out. Created within Adobe Illustrator and Flash.

Prepare a Proposal - Product Design
I've been meaning to get these up on here. This is the elements and isometric views (both colour and line artwork for the container shape). I am a bit behind on this brief, but I'm sure I will be able to get the whole thing completed by the assessment week.

This is just a screen grab of the flash animation I have been furiously working on. I'm currently stuck a little on masking the foil cover, but I think I may have figured out the problem.
